Google is an American company that specializes in Internet-related services and products. These include online advertising technologies, search, cloud computing, software, and hardware. The company owns the Android operating system, which is the world's most popular smartphone OS. 5-inch 1080p display
Android 8.0 Oreo
It is designed with a view to creating an Android version of Apple's iPhone 8 and just the best competitor to all other android phones in the market available right now.
Its body is constructed from aluminum with its back a little stony like fish. Its texture is a little harsh and its design is unique with a very fine grip on hands. It seems very shiny even though not too slippery. The first impression is overall very good and even does not look as if it would scratch or the color might fade away with time. There is a shade of glass that brings a change in its looks by what other phones look like. The shade covers camera sensor and flash but the glass panel is more likely to get filled with scratches with time and would be the major issue. The battery saving mode is also an utter disappointment.
Its screen is AMOLED 5-inch, with a 1080p display which is good so far. The panel on the Pixel 2 edges towards the warm side. The biggest feature that it lacks is the support for high dynamic range or HDR. This is probably the worst drawback of the phone. The ability to playback HDR10 and Dolby Vision content from the likes of Amazon and Netflix is available on the Galaxy Note 8, LG V30 and upcoming iPhone X – but it isn’t available on the Pixel 2. Also, it has a part - software and a part - hardware. The sides of the Pixel 2 are pressure sensitive. Although if you squeeze the phone only the Assistant will pop up and you cannot remap it into something else. Well, the software part makes the phone performance much better covering all its cons.
7. Some More Facts
The main feature to highlight is its camera. Its camera makes it more preferable to choose over any other handset. Google has indeed worked on its camera by adding a wide range of improvements. It has also optically stabilized the camera to get less stirred and clean shots. It has widened the aperture to let more light into the sensor and produce a clean processed image. Pictures are very fine at the quality and less saturated with deep colors and look more lively as compared to the camera pictures of other phones. Colours are very vibrant, especially the green one, that makes a flower look like an original one and not artificial. One can also crop the pictures without making it blurred as the details can be highlighted from far within. It has a super HDR+ mode in its camera which is functional by default.
Apart from its best quality pictures with HDR+ mode, it works perfectly well at low lightning as well. Low light photos are bright and also have a very good exposure and manage to click subtle shots and shadows. Video capture is excellent as well as the camera uses both EIS( electronic image stabilization) to help avoid jerkiness, resulting in a smoother image. The video is recorded up to 4K 30fps but you should still record it at 1080p 60fps while shooting a motion movie.
Although the features of this phone have been very promising, it is showing no growth in the battery. It isn't too bad but also not too impressive. It charges very quickly, from 0% to 100%, it takes one hour 10minutes with a supplied USB charger.
Speaking of the performance, the Pixel phone is comparatively faster than any other android phone in the market. It runs on Snapdragon 835 platform and 4GB of RAM making it way too faster. Although OnePlus 5 has the double featured RAM the Pixel has a better RAM management. However, it is not sure whether it would work at the same speed as before.
The Pixel includes 64 GB of storage, but 128 GB is also available and there is no micro-SD expansion. So for the regular users, the 64 GB won't be a problem at all and also Google provides unlimited full-res uploads of your photos and 4K videos until 2020.Overall space won't be a problem to the users. It also has dual front-facing speakers that produce a stereo sound which is far better in Pixel 2XL than that of Pixel but provides a very less bass though. Wifi is not too fast at switching and connecting but its performance is great. The calling feature works excellently as well.
Comming to its software, Android 8.0 software experience is very great and much easier to use than any other existing ones out there in the market. It has been very active about the home screen for years and now finally a better solution to it has been visualized in the new Pixel 2.
Overall it would be a good choice if you go for these phones. Lest wait for another edition.
